Liam Lawson has praised the impact new Racing Bulls boss Alan
Permane has had on the team, especially with his engineering
input. Permane became F1's newest team principal in July, being
promoted to replace Laurent Mekies, who in turn was promoted to Red
Bull to replace the sacked Christian Horner. F1 stalwart Permane
was previously sporting director and chief race engineer for Alpine
and its previous Team Enstone guises, having been in F1 since the
Benetton days. Detailing how Permane works, Lawson highlighted
Permane's continuation of the strong engineering output of the team
as a strength. "Obviously, they both worked together through the
start of this year and for the last couple of years," Lawson began
to tell media, including RacingNews365 , when asked about the
impact Permane has had on the team since taking over from Mekies.
"They’re a very strong team together, and with Laurent going to Red
Bull and Alan taking over, I think his procedure and process are
very similar to Laurent’s, honestly. "They both come from
engineering backgrounds, are very, very smart guys, and very good
at pushing the team, especially on the engineering side, to have a
quick car. "I think that’s what we’ve had this year. It’s what
we’ve kept pushing through with the last few races, as well with
Alan. "They’ve both been very, very good."
