Lewis Hamilton has shared a health update on his dog Roscoe,
revealing the British bulldog is in a coma. Roscoe has been a
frequent companion of Hamilton during grand prix weekends across
the last 12 years, travelling to several races with the seven-time
champion. Earlier this week, Hamilton posted an image of Roscoe on
social media and stated he was unwell while requesting everyone to
keep the dog in their “thoughts and prayers.” Hamilton was due to
take part in a Pirelli tyre test with Ferrari at Mugello but was
replaced by Zhou Guanyu for undisclosed reasons. His absence seems
likely to relate to the health of his dog, as Hamilton revealed
Roscoe is in a coma after a veterinarian had to restart his heart.
“Please keep Roscoe in your thoughts,” Hamilton said on social
media. “I want to keep you all updated.  “Roscoe caught pneumonia
again and was struggling to breathe. He was admitted into hospital
and sedated to calm him while they did checks on him and during the
process his heart stopped.  “They managed to get a heartbeat back
and now he’s in a coma. We don’t know whether he will wake from
this.  “Tomorrow we’ll try to wake him up. I’m by his side and want
to thank you all for your prayers and support.”
