As Formula 1 prepares to light up the Marina Bay streets again, here’s everything fans need to know heading into the 2025 Singapore Grand Prix — from session timings and weather predictions to how and where to watch.

Schedule

The 2025 Singapore GP weekend takes place from Friday, October 3 to Sunday, October 5, at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. It’s Round 18 of the F1 season.

Below is the planned track schedule (all times local, Singapore Standard Time, UTC+8):

Session Date Time (Local)
Free Practice 1 Friday, Oct 3 17:30 – 18:30
Free Practice 2 Friday, Oct 3 21:00 – 22:00
Free Practice 3 Saturday, Oct 4 17:30 – 18:30
Qualifying Saturday, Oct 4 21:00 – 22:00
Grand Prix (Race) Sunday, Oct 5 20:00 (start)

Because Singapore is a night race, many sessions occur in the evening and early night, which localizes conveniently for many international viewers.

Weather Forecast & Conditions

Singapore is notoriously unpredictable when it comes to weather, combining torrid heat, high humidity, and tropical downpours. Here’s what is expected for the 2025 race weekend:

Friday, Oct 3 (FP1 & FP2)
  • Conditions: Mostly cloudy with a moderate chance of thundery showers, especially earlier in the day.

  • Temperatures: Around 30–31 °C, with high humidity.

  • Humid heat index may make it feel much hotter — possibly up to 37 °C in cockpit conditions.

Saturday, Oct 4 (FP3 & Qualifying)
  • Conditions: Still mostly cloudy. The chance of showers is lower, though early morning or late afternoon rain isn’t ruled out.

  • Temperatures: ~29–31 °C during sessions.

Sunday, Oct 5 (Race Day)
  • Conditions: Partly cloudy. The forecast suggests minimal rain during the race, though earlier showers might clear before lights-out.

  • Temperatures: ~30–33 °C ambient, but with humidity making cockpit conditions tougher.

  • Humidity: Likely 70%+ — a physical challenge for drivers given the reduced airflow and confined street circuit layout.

Overall, the weekend is shaping up to be warm, muggy, and with a possibility of showers at vulnerable times. Teams will have to prepare for wet/dry transitions.

  • Highlights: Channel 4 airs race highlights afterward.

United States

Other Territories

What to Watch / Tips for Fans

  • Be ready for weather swings: With showers possible, late track condition changes could influence strategy heavily.

  • Physical strain: Expect driver fitness to be tested — heat + humidity + high concentration = an endurance race.

  • Session timing matters: A wet FP1 or FP2 may skew grip levels and tyre usage patterns, influencing the rest of the weekend.

  • Global timing is viewer-friendly: Because the Singapore GP is a night race, European viewers get session times that aren’t too early or late — e.g. the race in the UK starts at 1 pm BST.
