Cadillac’s entry into Formula 1 has received another major boost with the hiring of former Miami Grand Prix boss Tyler Epp as the team’s first Global Head of Commercial Strategy.
Epp’s tenure as President of the Miami Grand Prix showcased his ability to elevate motorsport events. Alongside Managing Partner Tom Garfinkel, he led South Florida Motorsports, managing the Miami International Autodrome and delivering sold-out crowds for four consecutive years.
The event set a high bar, generating four of the five largest U.S. TV audiences in Formula 1 history and securing a contract extension through 2041 – the longest on the F1 calendar.
“We could not have found a better leader and visionary to build out the commercial arm of our team,” commented Dan Towriss, CEO of Cadillac F1 and TWG Motorsports.
“His work shaping the Miami Grand Prix into one of the marquee events on the Formula 1 calendar demonstrates his unique command of the sport domestically and worldwide.”
A Vision for Cadillac’s F1 Ambitions
Epp’s appointment signals Cadillac’s intent to establish a formidable presence in Formula 1. With over two decades of senior management experience across racing, football, and baseball, including roles with the Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Padres, and Chip Ganassi Racing, Epp is well-equipped to drive the team’s commercial strategy.
“It requires incredible leadership to successfully build a team from the ground up, and it takes someone exceptional to execute the type of vision and ambitions we have for the Cadillac Formula 1® Team,” added Cadillac Formula 1 Team Principal Graeme Lowdon.
“Tyler has a proven track record of cultivating organizations that set the standard in Formula 1, and I’m confident that his operational expertise will be a critical asset to our organization.”
Commenting on his appointment, Epp expressed enthusiasm for his new role.

As Cadillac prepares to enter Formula 1, Epp’s leadership will be pivotal in shaping the team’s commercial identity, leveraging his experience to blend American innovation with the global allure of the sport.
