Cadillac has confirmed the signing of a major figure it has hailed
as a "visionary" that it is confident will take the fledgling F1
team to the next level behind the scenes. Tyler Epp, who served as
the president of the Miami Grand Prix since 2022, will lead
Cadillac's commercial operations globally in the newly found role
of global head of commercial strategy. Under Epp's leadership, the
race was delivered to sold-out crowds at the Hard Rock Stadium and
generated four of the five largest live U.S. TV audiences in F1
history. Epp also negotiated a new contract extension for the grand
prix through to 2041. "We could not have found a better leader and
visionary to build out the commercial arm of our team,” said Dan
Towriss, CEO of the Cadillac F1 team. "His work shaping the Miami
Grand Prix into one of the marquee events on the Formula 1 calendar
demonstrates his unique command of the sport domestically and
worldwide." Epp has a strong racing background after previously
working as general manager of Hall of Fame Racing, a NASCAR Sprint
Cup race team, and director of team operations and business
development at Chip Ganassi Racing. "I’ve spent so much of my
career in racing, and the past several years helping redefine what
American motorsports can be," said Epp. "I can’t think of a more
exciting and promising opportunity to galvanise our sport in the
United States and beyond than this one. "Cadillac is poised to
become a global force in F1 that’s rooted in American tradition and
ingenuity. I’m incredibly proud to join this effort from the very
beginning." Epp also spent eight years with the Kansas City Chiefs,
first as the team’s vice president of business development and then
executive vice president of business operations, whilst he was also
senior vice president of business development for the San Diego
Padres. Praising Epp's credentials, team principal Graeme Lowdon
said: "It requires incredible leadership to successfully build a
team from the ground up, and it takes someone exceptional to
execute the type of vision and ambitions we have for the Cadillac
Formula 1 team. "Tyler has a proven track record of cultivating
organisations that set the standard in Formula 1, and I’m confident
his operational expertise will be a critical asset to our
organisation."
