Formula 1 fans have urged Red Bull to axe Yuki Tsunoda and try a
different driver for the 2026 season, rather than retain the
25-year-old. In a RacingNews365 poll, fans were asked to vote for
whether Tsunoda deserves another year to prove himself alongside
Max Verstappen in the Milton Keynes-based outfit. Tsunoda was
promoted from Racing Bulls to replace Liam Lawson after just two
races this season, but has struggled to adjust to the RB21. In 15
races for Red Bull, Tsunoda has scored just 20 points, hurting the
Austrian team in the fight for second in the constructors'
championship. He has endured some difficult periods this season,
which included a seven-race point-less streak from Monaco to, and
including, Hungary. However, Tsunoda has started to make progress,
despite being rumoured with either a demotion back to Racing Bulls
for next year or even an exit from the Red Bull family. Tsunoda
has scored points in two of the last four races, including a
season-best result of sixth in the Azerbaijan GP. Despite the
strong result, both Lawson and Isack Hadjar have claimed a top-five
finish in 2025 – Hadjar was on the podium in Zandvoort, while
Lawson claimed fifth in Baku. In the poll, 53.7% of those who voted
believe Red Bull should axe Tsunoda and sign a different driver,
with 39.7% having the view that he deserves more time. Check out
