The Miami Grand Prix has made Formula 1 history by announcing the
youngest race President in the championship's history. Tom
Garfinkel, managing director of the Miami GP and South Florida
Motorsports, announced that 28-year-old Katharina Nowak would
become the race's new President. Nowak, who was previously the
Miami GP's Vice President of Business Operations, will replace
Tyler Epp as President of the event. Epp took on the role in 2022
but will depart the Miami GP organisation, having taken on a new
role within the motorsports industry. "I am excited to announce
Katharina as our President," said Garfinkel. "She is one of the
most talented young executives I’ve been around and I know she will
continue to build on what has been established here – that we are
committed to innovating fan experience and delivering a world-class
event for drivers, teams and fans. "I also want to thank Tyler for
his leadership. The Grand Prix simply wouldn’t be what it has grown
into today without him.” In Nowak, the Miami GP has a President who
has worked at the Miami International Autodrome venue since 2019.
In 2019, Nowak joined the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium
enterprise and has held various roles, before becoming the Miami
GP's Vice President last year. In the Vice President position,
Nowak was responsible for spearheading the company's relationship
with F1, as well as being a key negotiator in business and
partnership oppportunities for the event. "I am both humbled and
excited to take on this new role as President," said Nowak. "I want
to thank Steve Ross, Tom and Tyler for their vision, investment and
leadership. "In this new chapter, our goals remain unchanged – we
will continue to deliver an exceptional event for our stakeholders,
with elite on-track action and fan-first experience at the centre
of all we do. "We have an incredible team committed to excellence,
and I am eager to continue the work that has already begun."
